After the June, 2004 G8 Summit, President Bush reiterated the following:
"Q...do you still stand by what you said several months ago, a suggestion that it might be difficult to identify anybody who leaked the agent's name?
THE PRESIDENT: That's up to --
Q And, and, do you stand by your pledge to fire anyone found to have done so?
THE PRESIDENT: Yes."
Now that we all KNOW Cheney told Libby to leak Valerie Plame's CIA identity to the press, let's go to Bush question number ONE: Did you know VP Cheney was responsible for the leak when you said you'd fire anyone who leaked Valerie Plame's CIA status?
Question TWO: If you DID know VP Cheney was directing the leak of the covert CIA agent, why did you tell the American people that you didn't know?
Question THREE: If you DIDN'T know VP Cheney was directing the leak of a covert CIA agent, did you authorize him to reveal covert CIA agents without first asking your persmission?
Question THREE: Under what law do you, or VP Cheney, have the legal authority to reveal covert CIA agents?
Question FOUR: Why is it your administration's policy to leak the names of covert CIA agents?
Question FIVE: Do you think it is morally right for current and former members of your administration to leak the names of covert CIA agents? Including Ari Fleishcher, Karl Rove, Scooter Libby, and Vice President Cheney?
Question SIX: What was your administration attempting to acheive by leaking the status of covert CIA agent Valerie Plame?
Question SEVEN: Do you know what the damage assessment to the CIA is by losing Plame as a covert agent?
Question EIGHT: Are some of Ms. Plame's CIA associates, and/or foreign nationals who may have worked with her covertly in her work on the Iranian nuclear weapons program now at risk?
Question NINE: If someone is killed, tortured or imprisoned as a result of Plame's covert status as a CIA agent being leaked, would the people who leaked that status be criminally or morally responsible?
Question TEN: Will you "fire" VP Cheney now that we all know he directed the leak of a covert CIA agent?
These are simple direct questions that could, and should, be asked by White House reporters directly of the President. He doesn't need to "hear from the attorney general" before answering, because these are questions regarding his PERSONAL views on the subject. Questions regarding his JUDGEMENT and COMPETENCE.
We need to keep asking these simple, direct questions until the MSM starts asking them on TV every night.
And until Dick Cheney, and/or Bush himself, are answering them in front of Congress.
